Rearcross U12's lined out at home in Bilboa against Lough Derg 'B' last Saturday, Lough Derg controlled proceedings from the start with their mid field and forward players combining well to create a number of chances in front of the Rearcross goal. Rearcross were finding it difficult to string a couple of passes together and were penalised after the 7 minute mark when Lough Derg scored from close range after Rearcross failed to clear their lines. Rearcross were to suffer another set back 5 minutes later when they failed to clear the ball after several attempts before Lough Derg struck again to go 2 nil up. Lough Derg kept up the high tempo and were rewarded again after the 15 minute mark when the Lough Derg Nenagh No.8 struck a hard shot to roof of the Rearcross net. Lough Derg scored again after 25 minutes to leave the score line at half time 4 nil.
Rearcross got off to the worst possible start in the 2nd half when a mistake in the Rearcross defence led to Lough Derg scoring again to go 5 nil up. Rearcross came more into the game after this period led by Ailín Rochford up front who put the Lough Derg defence in all kinds of trouble throughout the 2nd half. She was to be rewarded after 20 minutes when she broke from mid field and strung a few passes together with Amber Deegan & Ellie Kennedy to put the ball past the Lough Derg keeper for Rearcross's only goal. Joseph Dawson put off some fine saves for Rearcross in the 2nd half with Eimear Carey & Cathal Derval putting in a fine display in defence. Amber Deegan played a captains part in the 2nd half with a fine display in mid field. However with 5 minutes to go Lough Derg put together a string of passes in midfield before scoring again from close range to give Joseph Dawson in goal no chance. Final score Rearcross 1, Lough Derg 6.
